Gossip"
Updated December, 2024

Harvest 2 Table Farm School was busy this past year (2023), from planting seeds to nurturing and harvesting edible crops that enhance quality of life. Our preschoolers learned to identify crops by name, pick crops place them in their bucket, and count crops up to 30. A few types of crops consist of squash, green beans, corn, cucumbers, black eye peas, cucumber melons, purple hull peas, lima beans, collards, turnips, and mustards, sweet potatoes, watermelon, cantaloupe. We can't forget the herbs, such as oregano, basil, parsley, rosemary, and lemon balm.
This winter we have attempted to grow crops in our greenhouse. Collards, chard, mustards, kale lettuce, celery, and spinach will have the opportunity to show us how they can grow in our greenhouse.

We couldn't operate this farm without the help of our owner Payton Sims, Director Kim O'Neal, and several volunteers, sponsors, and donors.

We appreciate Richard Love, Eathel Leslie, Vi Biddle, Mary Simon, Brittany David, Antoine and Veronica Crute, Payton Sims III, Paul Sims, Ajani Posely Sheila Haywood, Lydia Cole, Penny Brown, Penny Keene, Sheri Tims, Sam Thomas.

The Madison extension office donated a rain barrel, 12 bags of soil, an irrigation timer, a water hose, and raised bed materials. Home Depot donated a 75% discount on 10 bags of lime and 10 bags of soil.
We substituted Red the Rooster with Roll Tide Rooster, and he has settled in fairly well thus far. Unfortunately, Sweet Potato Brownie was unexpectedly attacked and she will be missed.

We thank you for your continuous support as we continue to teach Health through Education.

Welcome to your next farm-filled journey!
Lifestyle Journey from Head 2 Toe Change is a nonprofit 501c3 created to enhance the quality of health by “Health through Education” – Teaching children, with or without disabilities, how to maintain wellness through a clean, chemical-free lifestyle.
“Harvest 2 Table” is a farming project that provides a small organic farm with home-food gardening and goat education. What makes our small organic farm more inviting is the fact that it meets ADA regulations and guidelines. Under the ADA, you have a disability if you have a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits a major life activity.

"Being at the farm affords so many opportunities for our children to learn from. Farm goers journey through experiences that introduce biology, demonstrate organization, help prepare for growth, develop sense of creativity, and benefit from emotional release while caretaking for the animals and plants onsite."

We love to service our community!
Our
Our mission is to regenerate agriculture and gardening in children’s lives. Health through Education provides the fundamentals of “how and why” children need to plant small gardens in their backyard/patio/balcony or community gardens. It also provides pride in ownership and responsibility of goat care while goats meet the needs of humans.
